Phone-first M-Pesa Swahili & English

Know where every shilling and every item went, even when you're not in the shop

Kingpin POS is a phone-first till and stock-control system built in a real kiosk. Your attendants sell and count; you see what really happened.

Kingpin POS is for you if

  • Owners of kiosks, small shops and small food outlets who are not at the till all day.
  • Shops with one or two attendants where stock and cash quietly go missing.
  • Owners who take M-Pesa and are tired of matching it to the till by hand.

What it fixes

Stock goes missing and nobody can say when

Every delivery, sale, wastage and cooked batch is written to a stock ledger. At closing the attendant counts what is on the shelf, and any shortage is valued in shillings.

Attendants handle cash while you are away

Voids, expenses paid from the till and wastage wait for your approval. You get a Telegram message and approve or reject from your phone.

M-Pesa never matches the till

Customers pay by a PIN prompt on their own phone or by Paybill. Payments are matched to sales, and the end-of-day check compares them with what was recorded.

What it does today

A fast till on a phone

Sell for cash, M-Pesa, or part of each on one sale. It runs in the phone browser, with no app-store download.

M-Pesa without the guessing

Send a PIN prompt to the customer, or let them pay by Paybill. Both are matched to the sale.

Keeps selling when the network drops

Sales are saved on the phone and sent when the connection comes back.

Blind end-of-day closing

Attendants count stock, cash and M-Pesa without seeing what the figures should be. The gaps are worked out for you.

Owner approvals and alerts

Approve voids, till expenses and wastage. Get a Telegram alert when your account is used on a new phone, and switch an attendant off instantly.

Stock that adds up

Deliveries from suppliers, wastage, cooked items made from recipes, bottle and crate deposits, and expiry dates with a "sell these first" list.

Daily and weekly summaries

A Telegram summary after every closing, and a weekly report on how the shop did.

Insights for the owner

Which products sell fastest, your margins, what to reorder, and when a supplier raises a price.

Records you can keep

Monthly CSV exports, an activity log, and expense and delivery receipt photos kept private. A staff guide inside the app in English and Swahili.

Used every day in our own shop

Kingpin POS was built in, and is run from, a small kiosk in Kisii, so the till, the closing routine and the stock rules reflect a real shop day, not a feature list.

Good to know before you start

We would rather you hear this now than find out in week two.

  • KRA eTIMS invoicing and VAT. Kingpin POS does not issue eTIMS invoices yet.
  • Printed customer receipts.
  • Barcode scanning.
  • More than one shop in a single account.
  • M-Pesa prompts and Paybill matching need the shop's own Safaricom Daraja access. We handle the technical setup with you.

How a pilot works

Nothing starts until you have the terms in writing.

  1. Tell us about your business

A short chat on WhatsApp or a call: what you do, how many people use it, and how you get paid today.

  2. We set it up with you

We load your products or records, set up your staff, and show them how to use it.

  3. Run it as a pilot

You use it in your real business for an agreed period with support on WhatsApp. The pilot price and terms are written down before we start.

  4. You decide

At the end we review the results together. You continue on an agreed monthly plan or stop, and your records can be exported.

Common questions

Do I need special hardware?

No. It runs in the browser on a smartphone, so a smartphone at the till is enough.

What happens if the internet goes off?

Sales are saved on the phone and sent when the connection returns. M-Pesa prompts need a connection, because they have to reach the customer's phone.

Can attendants still steal or hide sales?

No system can promise that. Kingpin POS makes it much harder to hide: closings are counted blind, voids and till expenses need your approval, and shortages are valued in shillings. You still review each closing.

Is my data safe, and can I take it with me?

Your records are kept on our secured server and backed up. You can export monthly CSV sheets of your sales, stock and expenses, and the terms are written down before the pilot starts.

How much does it cost?

We quote per shop and put the price and the pilot terms in writing before anything starts. Ask us on WhatsApp.

Is it only for kiosks?

It was built in a small kiosk that sells drinks, snacks and cooked food, so a similar small shop is the best fit. If yours is different, ask us first, because there is no barcode scanning or multi-shop support yet.

Tell us about your business and we reply within 24 hours to arrange a walkthrough and agree the pilot terms in writing.
